Why Fresh Roasted Coffee?

Why Fresh Roasted Coffee?

More often than not, giving fresh roasted coffee a try for yourself is enough to both pick up on the differences and never go back to the generic alternative. But if you need some persuasion to give it a try in the first place, here’s a quick rundown of just a few of the unique benefits of fresh roasted coffee.

Coffee consumption has been linked to a variety of health benefits in recent research studies. All of them debunk previously held myths regarding the dangers of drinking roasted coffee. Freshly roasted coffee is high in nutrients and antioxidants, which help to strengthen your immune system and improve your overall health.

In fact, the coffee fruit has more antioxidants than blueberries or pomegranates. Both fruits are known for their high antioxidant content. Antioxidants are beneficial because they help to counteract the harmful effects of aging free radicals in our bodies.

The coffee bean becomes perishable once roasted, and like any perishable food object, it loses nutritional value over time.  The older a coffee, the lower the nutritional composition.

There is no comparison in the taste of fresh roasted coffee over vacuum-sealed coffees and the environmentally unfriendly pod systems. The flavor is full and vibrant which allows you to optimally taste more of the flavor characteristics.

When coffee is not freshly roasted it can taste stale and bitter, if not heated to the correct temperature. All the taste is in the bean oils, and they will evaporate once the beans are ground up.

If you buy whole beans, grind them up minutes before you brew up your pot of coffee. The flavor is much stronger and the subtle tastes of your specific type of bean are more noticeable.

You can enjoy a cup of coffee at its peak whenever you smell its aroma. It adds a different sense of fullness to the coffee drinker. A coffee’s aroma is an important characteristic that adds to the fullness of the entire experience. Freshly roasted coffee shouldn’t smell like coffee. It should carry the earthy scent of the beans themselves.

Smell a handful of “unfresh” coffee and it will smell like, well, coffee. Then, inhale a handful of your fresh-roasted coffee and you’ll know what coffee is supposed to smell like.

The pleasantly intense aroma of fresh-roasted coffee is therapeutic, awakening the senses and triggering endorphins.  It also helps in relaxing tense feelings; it is considered a soothing, psychological aroma-therapy.
